NLC STORM 49 KESTREL HEIGHTS 28

The New Life Camp Storm began the 2008-09 season in convincing fashion against the Kestrel Heights Hawks in Durham. Rebecca, Anna, Courtney, Daryl, and Ryan started the game for the Storm. They came out pushing the tempo and attacking the basket offensively, drawing quite a few fouls from the Hawks. On defense, pressure from the Storm allowed Kestrel no easy shots and the score was 11-2 after the first quarter, with most of the Storm points coming on free throws. By halftime the lead stretched to 25-11, aided by 2 rainbow 3-pointers by Hannah Grace. In the 3rd quarter the Storm really poured it on, running out to a 28-point lead and ending the quarter up 43-15 before coasting to a 49-28 win. All 10 players for the Storm got substantial playing time and made a real contribution to the winning effort.
